SimpleCue
Audio cue player for theatre

What it does
An audio cue player for theatre, live events and installation, built around cues, fades, links, loops and vamps. A cue is not always a single event — a vamped cue is played, held, released and eventually ended — so a cue expands into the steps it actually needs, and GO walks them one at a time.
Every cue has its own crosspoint matrix onto the device's output channels, and the whole thing can be driven from OSC, MIDI, MIDI Show Control, MMC, Art-Net or sACN, with cues sending MIDI and OSC back out to other gear.
- Cues with adjustable in and out points, gain and pre-wait; five fade curve shapes
- Links: fire the next cue instantly, fire it at the end, or crossfade into it
- Loops a set number of times or forever; vamps circle a section until the operator calls it on
- Per-cue output routing matrix onto any of the device's channels
- Control in and out over OSC, MIDI, MSC, MMC, Art-Net and sACN
- Builds for macOS universal, Windows x64 and arm64, and Linux x64 and arm64
Where it stands
Released at v0.4.1, with the macOS builds signed and notarised by Apple; the point release closes a data-loss window in saving — the show file is now replaced in one step rather than deleted and rewritten — and stops lower-casing cue numbers. The playback engine is verified numerically — a ramp signal whose sample values encode their own index is pushed through the real voice and checked sample by sample for in and out points, fades, loops, vamps, routing and crossfade timing — and the OSC and Art-Net paths are additionally driven end to end over real sockets against a running app. It has been run in test environments but not on a live show, and no external control has been tested end to end — no MIDI, lighting or streaming hardware has been connected to it. Only the macOS/CoreAudio build has been exercised on real audio hardware.
