R1 Layout Builder — R1 remote views built from the project, not dragged into place
No screenshot. This one's configuration inside another application.

What it does

R1’s remote views are the pages you run the show from: a fader per hang, the delays, the mutes, and the lamps that light when something’s limiting. AutoCreate makes a fair start. Then you spend the afternoon dragging controls about one at a time, and again every time the rig changes.

The Layout Builder reads the groups and amp channels out of the project and builds the pages from those. Pick which groups are the sections and it makes a Master page with the whole system at a glance, a Timing page with a row per channel for delay and the generator, EQ and tuning with a system EQ on Master and one per section, Faders where each Left/Right pair gets one linked fader, Strips with a frame per section and your strip once per channel, and a Floorplan, where you upload a picture of the room and drop strips where the speakers are.

It writes only new rows into a copy: the views, their controls, the floorplan’s picture and, for linked faders, new groups beside Master (never inside it). Before it offers the download it checks that nothing outside the new views changed, that every control points at a real channel or group, and that every control is one R1 offers. The original file is never touched and nothing is uploaded.

  • Reads a d&b R1 .dbpr in the browser; nothing is uploaded
  • Master, Timing, EQ & tuning, Faders, Strips and Floorplan pages, built from the project’s own groups
  • One linked fader per Left/Right pair, as new groups outside Master
  • A strip designer: build a channel or group strip from R1’s controls, then lay it out per channel
  • Floorplan pages: upload a picture of the room and place strips where the speakers are
  • Delay ranges follow the amp: 340 ms on D6 and D12 channels, as AutoCreate sets them
  • Writes a copy with only new rows, checked against the original and R1’s own catalogue of controls

Where it stands

An early preview. R1 3.46.1 has opened a file from the Python scripts this page was ported from (Taps and linked Faders views on a D20 and D6 rig) and saved it back with every control and group intact, but nobody has pressed anything on those pages with amps attached. R1 hasn’t opened a file made by this web page yet, so open its output in R1 (Configuration mode, offline) and look at every new view before it goes anywhere near a show. Only projects from R1 3.46.1 have been tried.
