caspar-AV — CasparCG media server console
Four outputs placed on a 3840×1080 show canvas. Dragging a screen writes MIXER FILL; every command sent is in the log below.

What it does

CasparCG Server is a superb playout engine with an odd gap around it: the organisation's own frontend is archived and the maintained client is a Qt desktop app, so there is no maintained web front end. More to the point, most of what a live-events media server needs is already in CasparCG and simply unexposed.

caspar-AV is a Rust bridge daemon plus a browser console that exposes it that way: screens on a show canvas, cues that change several of them on the same frame, a media library, GDD template forms and a trigger grid. Dragging a screen writes MIXER FILL; the corner-pin numbers write MIXER PERSPECTIVE. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the CasparCG project.

  • Screens placed on a show canvas and mapped to CasparCG outputs
  • Frame-accurate cues compiled into BEGIN/COMMIT batches
  • Media library and GDD-driven graphics template forms
  • Trigger grid for live operation
  • Every AMCP command it sends is in the log along the bottom of the page

Where it stands

Released at v0.1.1, built for six targets locally. The protocol work was derived from the CasparCG 2.5.0 source and then verified against a real CasparCG 2.5.0 server, which caught six genuine bugs — including a command-ordering mistake that broke every MIXER and CG command. It has not been run on real output hardware or in a live show.
